Another glorious weekend. A little windy on the Friday so we didn’t get to do the long trip but excellent visibility and fine weather. Water temp 13/14 C.
A smaller group. 10 of us snugly fitted into the bunkhouse but with the fine weather outside most of the time anyway.
Kicking off with the Glanmire (a splinter group to The Craig south), The Craig north, Black Carrs, Conger reef (Weasel lock towards Eyemouth), Glanmire (again !!!), Tye’s tunnel (splinter group towards The Craig but deeper).
Glanmire had excellent vis. A little dark since there were a few clouds but was easily 7-8m.
The Craig is an area we don’t dive much but at 20m there are some fantastic gullies to explore full of life (Wolfies, Conger).
Conger reef (start at Weasel lock) has an unprepossessing start (kelp) but as you move along there is lots to see in the wall (lot’s of Leopard Spotted Gobies and juvenile fish, Conger later on).
Fish and Chips at Scoutscroft takeaway excellent. Food at the New Inn is good again. BBQ with steak on the menu – really going upmarket ! Can always recommend cafe on the harbour at St Abbs – Cullen Skink, Mackerel Pate, Crab anything and of course the cakes.
